I was just curious and confused. Nothing wrong about that. The tf2 update said it released it and i got kinds perplexed about the whole situation
The medal being released in the update just means that it's now available for the admins to hand out. The admins still need to go through all the entries to make sure there's no low-effort entries (like those ms paint drawings that we got last year, which would take 10 minutes to do), and compile a list of who needs a medal. Once they have that list, they can then ask Valve to give the medals to everyone who participated in the Jam. It takes a while, especially with the number of entries that we had this time.

About the medals guys, let's all be patient here, these kind and awesome admins are doing their best to deliver all the medals. Believe me, once they are here, I'm telling ya, it will totally be worth it! I'm being patient, I am in no rush to receive the medal, let's be patient and talk about this amazing jam we all had! Remember guys, these friendly admins will tell us when the medals are coming.

On that note, did anyone learn any new techniques? Or anything that they didn't know before? Anything they would like to do differently in the next jam?

some people don't give a shit about testing their limits, they just want a shiny medal in their backpack and then leave this place forever

or until the next 72hr jam

i saw a bunch of submissions look like they were made in 7.2 mins

If there's one thing I learned during the jam it's that I am horrible at cutting things with a saw. Maybe I'll find something to hold the wood in place. I should probably work out more too...

Go for it! Theres plenty of resources and tutorials out there to get anybody started with mapping, and its such a good feeling running around a map and thinking "hey I made this!". Then you can find things in your map that you can improve, go make the changes, run around some more, maybe even test the map on the server with real players.

And dont feel the need to wait for the next 72 hour event, just make something!

I honestly wanted to test somthing with the 72 hrs jam. I didn't even knew there was a medal. And that was the biggest work i did with SFM and Photoshop for a while.

I learned during this jam how to use post processing effects and photoshop. My poster for the jam was actually my first time using post processing effects, so I accomplished something here!

I learnt how to make proper spawnrooms, and how to make sightlines not so freaking powerful, also, I learned how to add item_ammopacks and item_healthpacks, lights and effects, and how to make proper symmetrical maps.

Are we allowed to update maps or do we have to wait till medals are out?
