The map looks really good, but those cones of light from the streetlights look kind of odd in daylight. It is as if those lights are brighter than the sun.

Not all good maps go official. More even, not all maps that go official are good. And it does not even have to be particularly good to be taken inspiration or blatantly stolen ideas from!

i know... but most of the unofficial 2cp maps I've found are either made by crash (don't get me wrong, the guys great, i just personally don't like taking inspiration from him, as it seems that every beginner mapper and their grandma already took inspiration from him...) or never made it past alpha...

If you know of any worthwhile maps to take inspiration from, please tell me...

"Most 2cp maps are made by crash" = "most 2cp maps are stoneyridge's clipping". Then a map having not made it past alpha doesn't mean it's bad... And about good-bad things again. Even some a1s, mostly from experienced mappers, are inspirational in places. And yeah, it doesn't have to be a 2cp even, to get you some ideas.

That's right. Gorge is somewhat perfect 2cp map, and not because it invented 2cp - it really damn works and has great design. Having been there when game's mechanics were made seems to really help valve's mappers.
And stop filling all of your messages with …s please

Don't be afraid to analyze 3cp a/d maps or isolated 2cp stages from multi-stage maps. Being able to see the difference between them and a single-stage 2cp map can help you understand what might be necessary for a 2cp map to work besides what is necessary to make any a/d cp map work.

I went on a 2cp analysis spree a while ago, and yes, there are not a lot of finished 2cp maps out there. There are a few good ones I found though: Whiterock, Desertion, Mudwater.
