Had a rough week, and decided to take a little mental break.

I guess it could fit that style of architecture. My main goal was to practice using arches more while still keeping a mostly neutral palette. Not too much thought was put into the actual design though.

I really love the shadows cast by the overhang. Might try to incorporate this style into a map with actual gameplay use, but there's some other projects I should work on first.

IIRC, the ancient Greeks were known for columns, and it was the Romans who added arches.

As I said, I really didn't select a style to work with, I just kinda went with whatever came up. I do know of at least one Greek arch, the Arch of Hadrian, but that was based off of Roman triumphal arches. I believe that the Greeks originally introduced the arch to southern Italy, but moreso used it for underground construction (for distributing lateral forces; Idolon described this distribution here for beams, and similar concepts apply to archways).

(EDIT: Sorry if that sounded condescending, I didn't mean for it to.)

is this all modelwork, or brushwork?
Brushwork with that much detail will probably break something so it should be model.
He's been testing with source 2 workflow of making models and he is very successful.
I am still waiting for a good tutorial on this.

How beefy is your computer? I know my computer wont handle that much poly ingame.

An average weapon tends to have a threshold of ~7k polys when contributors make them, and you see lots of those all the time. Plus decent LODs can work wonders.

it should hopefully fix the scaling, lighting, and overall gameplay issues of the previous version...
