Saw it last night at midnight release.

The first act was rough because it was setting the tone, and being Star Wars it took some time to adjust. But once Jyn arrives at Yavin I was set. Then I just sat back and enjoyed one of the greatest things I've seen of recent years. This is probably my 4th favourite Star Wars movie overall but that doesn't mean much when I love 5, 6 and 7.

Darth Vader's Castle, his hallway march of destruction, the space battles intensity. Loved it all. At first the CGI Tarkin was a little off but thats just because it took me by surprise. I'm sure after a watch or two it'll be fine. I felt Cassian was a little lacklustre but all other members of Rogue One were funny and sympathetic. Krennic was menacing and the talk about world, just here and there, were so heartwarming.

Go watch it. 9/10.

Saw it today. Was pretty great IMO. Loved the moral greyness (even found myself rooting for the Empire at one point in the film since the Rebels were being dicks).

In those last few minutes, we finally see why everyone in the series is always so scared of Vader. It was all talk with the occasional handwavey 'force choke' up until that Rogue One scene and then you're like, "Oh, okay, yeah, I can see why he's legitimately terrifying."

The CGI Peter Cushing and Carrie Fisher were a little jarring. Very uncanny valley unfortunately. Thought the CGI de-aging in Ant Man (Micheal Douglas) and Westworld (Anthony Hopkins) was done a lot better.

Yeah, it's great it has lasers and stuff. Vader pulled a potg near the end there.

Still waiting for some Gonk droid development.

I loved it. But, I will admit it has its flaws. I wouldn't goes far as some have, saying character development was non-existent. Instead, I would say it was there, but a little muted. Still turned out to be a good film, though.
