That w00t does of course depend on which side of the political spectrum you lie. Being from California, I find it pretty funny that as soon as the polls closed, even though 0 votes were counted from the 55 point state, Obama got the one that pushed him over. It was obvious he would win it, of course, but still, I got a kick out of that.

I'm moving to Canada.

Wait, that doesn't work as well when a Democrat's elected does it?

Hey man, if you still wanna visit Canada, it's cool. Winter's coming up and our mountains are awesome. Banff, Whistler, it's all good.

As a Torontonian (person from Toronto), I think it's a pretty good city. Very cosmopolitan and there always is a lot going on. Great booze, too.

Oh my, I've completely gone off topic, I'm sorry.

OBAMA 08 YEAH!

haha I know what you mean Boojum...

I didn't even register, but where I live (Illinois) is always a blue state because of Chicago. I kind of regret not registering because there are a few local rules that were up for vote (such as to not make this a dry town anymore)...oh wells...

Yeah, 347 to 163 in the electoral. But the popular vote was like 50-47 the last time I saw it posted, but I haven't be able to find it since Omaba got over 270 electoral points. Anyone else seen it?

So, could someone win in the overall vote, but win by the electoral college?

Hmm, virtually everyone I know in the UK is for Obama, from our perspective we didn't really see any McCain pros, although the moose hunting jokes were funny ;)

hahah I like the context ads that are showing up on this site "Is Obama Ready to be President?". Got to love adsense.

According to the trustworthy site wikipedia, the popular vote is:
Obama: 62,682,786 McCain: 55,543,823

Randdalf, there have been a couple of cases (5 I think) in american history where someone won the popular vote, but lost the electoral college (I assume thats what you mean, instead of win, win). Most recent of course was Bush/Gore in 2000.
