Did you change anything besides the textures? Is there anything new gameplay-wise that would make this worth playing over the original?
Even though I'm not a fan of Minecraft remakes, I can appreciate good texture choices - but I have to question some of yours. Why are some buildings made of cobble/stone, when the originals were wood and metal? What's with the trapdoor railings, when you could replicate the fences from Minecraft? Why not make use of the
different types of wood planks to add some variety to the buildings?
The repetitiveness of Minecraft textures really brings out how bare the map is, too. The original may not have been fully detailed yet, but I think you could have gone the extra mile added your own detailing (glass windows, cacti, chests,
minecarts, etc) to break things up. Perhaps you could also make a simple blend out of the dirt and sand textures, and use that on the ground to make it less monotonous.
