im not rly sure i get the point of it cause you didn't commit to the minecraft thing by making things out of blocks you just kinda retextured everything

I tried to get as close as I can to the simplistic nature of Minecraft by removing a lot of the higher-detail elements, but a lot of areas required slopes which are hard to replicate using only blocks =P

Did you change anything besides the textures? Is there anything new gameplay-wise that would make this worth playing over the original?

Even though I'm not a fan of Minecraft remakes, I can appreciate good texture choices - but I have to question some of yours. Why are some buildings made of cobble/stone, when the originals were wood and metal? What's with the trapdoor railings, when you could replicate the fences from Minecraft? Why not make use of the different types of wood planks to add some variety to the buildings?

The repetitiveness of Minecraft textures really brings out how bare the map is, too. The original may not have been fully detailed yet, but I think you could have gone the extra mile added your own detailing (glass windows, cacti, chests, minecarts, etc) to break things up. Perhaps you could also make a simple blend out of the dirt and sand textures, and use that on the ground to make it less monotonous.
