Hey Guys!
i Really Wanted To Update You Guys And Showcase What some Guys And i Are Working On.
This called Sky Fortress (we can change The name if it Is not Suitable, thats Not A problem)
so what is SkyFortres?
its A Community made Update We Are Working On And It isnt Ready Yet. This Is Just an update to let you know and maybe have a chance to partcipate.
the gameplay is based on sky islands where the teams will be fighting.
also if they fell off the island they will die obviously :D
There Will be a small trailer after the map is done about the project it maybe only a sfm short or
if you would like it could be longer comment your opinion down below to let me know
if you know how to make maps,animations,props , a web site for the update or music and sounds thats totally great!

if you have anything to say about this project its totally fine.share your oppinion and ideas down below and let me know what you think

Wait, what happened to The Last Stand? Was that completed or is it still a work in progress? If it's still being worked on, I'd maybe recommend against starting a new project until your current one(s) are complete, or near completion.

Also, what's the theme of this community update? I presume it's based around aerial combat, but you've not really explained it properly.

the last stand hmm we wont continue it because we cant really do anything more about it.
the gameplay is based on fighting on sky islands and yes is based around aerial combat .
sorry for not mention it.
and yea thats pretty much everything
also i am making a map and an animation about it which you will see soon

TF2 isn't for aerial combat. Only 2 classes can really move appropriately for this, and even that is quite bad as I imagine it. Such an open space, besides being hated by Source, allows for horrible snipers' advantage. Huge no, in my opinion.

I think it's more to do with theme, rather than gameplay.

Why not try and make a nice SFM on that then or something? Maps are to be played on.

As I look at this map, cloudtop, it doesn't seem to be based on aerial combat like this update, more like a usual KotH set in sky, while Basilhs has explicitly stated that the update is going to be based on aerial combat.

I like the idea of the project, and I can see it going places if executed right. However, going by the past maps you have made, I'm going to say this: please, please test your maps with a full server of real players before you go all out and detailing it, and calling it a finished product. We have servers here on TF2Maps that run tests almost everyday, so the map makers can get feedback, and know what to add, remove, and change. You can learn a lot from it, and I think you really should take the opportunity to test every version of your map. Sometimes what you want on a map isn't what works with the gameplay, and will be not fun to players. If you get it tested early, and iterate on it, then when you get to detailing and you have a finished product, it's something that people will really enjoy playing. And seeing as this map may be a focal point of this big project, having it be to the highest possible quality will really help your project grow.

The last project you created ended very poorly, do we have anything aside from your word that this project wont also be a waste of time to anyone who is potentially going to be involved?
Dont get me wrong I love the concept of this, I do think you need to be a little more specific as to what your asking for, Arial combat as in floating islands, or realistically speaking floating fortresses (which would break the game's lore unless its a giant air balloon or something).

The only real way for all classes to engage in aerial combat are jump pads. If you can find a way to implement those without them being a gimmick then your fine.

thanks everyone for the feed back i will try my best to make the map able for everyclass and enjoyable for every class, also jump pads yea its a great idea .
when i finish the map i will upload it here so we can test it and fix every problem we will have with it

It's best if you hold off the details before the test so you don't have to change too much down the road, detailing is the fun part but testing comes first!

Join the steam group chat and use the bot on there to add your map to the imp list. Imps are impromptu test sessions, meaning they aren't scheduled, and happen when a vip feels like hosting and there's enough demand for one. There's usually an imp each day. You can also wait for gamedays, which are scheduled test sessions. A bio can host a gameday by making a thread for it, by which you can submit your map to. However, they aren't as common as imps.

Or maybe something more industrial, like islands floating with some actual tech to it? Jump pads would also fit better.
