RetroVision - My second piece of TF2 content. A retro medic hat.

This is my second piece of TF2 content, the first one was for last TF2 Jam.
It's not the best and probably not original. (It's pretty hard finding something that has not been done before, somewhere on the internet).

It's not the most serious stuff, as I'm still trying to get the hang off it.
But I had a lot of fun making it (except the part where I had to unwrap the model, I hate unwrapping with a passion).

I hope you like it too! :D

And if you can think of any feedback, please do share it with me!

Don't forget to check it out on Steam itself!

This hat is gameplay affecting IMO. It doesn't keep the proper recognizable silhouette of the medic. See cp_well's dev commentary around BLU last.

We know Valve just doesn't care about TF2's art style anymore and just release whatever they like. More than a few official Valve-made cosmetics would straight up be rejected if they had to go trough the workshop guidelines.

Doesn't mean we should stop caring.

Honestly i just turned off all cosmetics a year or so back. I no longer care to see the occasional cool load-out among endless seas of shitty art-style breaking lurid pink and green cosmetics. It also increased my fps by around 50, so there's that too.

edit; i don't mean this is art style breaking, it's a really cool cosmetic :)

Wait... You can disable them?
EDIT: found a mod, seems to be working.

I guess y'all are making a fair point, but in all honesty it's pretty hard to tell what specific "style" tf2 is. In my eyes, it's just a universe where everything is cartoony, so besides cartoony I wouldn't really say there's much of a style going on.
I am not the greatest fan of hats that alter the silhouette of a character but for tf2 I find it a little hard to draw the line as there are so many cosmetics that already do this.
I don't want to seem dismissive of your feedback though, I'll probably try to make better stuff, but my imagination doesn't reach far enough to think of anything that doesn't already exist. :S
