While underwater, purple texture covers entire screen?

Probably the water uses a material that has $underwateroverlay set to an invalid texture.

Yeah - you're using a Half-Life 2 water texture, use TF2 water textures exclusively or you're gonna have problems.

I have the same issue on an older map of mine. The thing is, it only sometimes gives me the checkerboard, and other times it works.

I don't really make maps so I was wondering how I can make those fixes ;o

Figure out which water material is being used and either replace it with an actual TF2 water material or get the missing texture that it's trying to use from Half-Life 2 and pack that into the map.
