tf_glow and you

Basic question - Does tf_glow work as expected?

I've been trying to get it to work on that Epicenter remake i'm creating, and it has the following problems:

1. It will only put a glow around one of the two prop_dynamics (tanks.) It looks like it always chooses the one closest to where you spawn (or maybe the one that's within visible range when you spawn?)
2. It will disappear once it's no longer within a visible visleaf.

Both of these things are obviously killing the reason why i would want to have them.

I also might be just doing it wrong. Right now, i just switched the two tanks from prop_static to prop_dynamic to be able to give them names, then i targeted them with the tf_glow. Is that the right way to do it?

Ah, ok then. I don't really see a solution for the 2nd problem. At all. We can email valve though

Ya I reported to the tf team email on day one of the update that the tf_glow doesn't show outside of a PVS, but I assume it's of very low priority at the moment.

And ya the tf_glow requires the target to be named and networked so you'd have to use a prop_dynamic/prop_physics instead of prop_static.

Okay, thanks. I still have no idea why it only shows one of the two tf_glows though. It looks like it decides what to display when you spawn and then never changes that. I have seen both models glow, but never without changing team in between.

Doesn't tf_glow work map wide? I had it on sd_decloak_72 and it worked fine.

It may be fading with the prop. Check the tank's fade distance.
