Hey Guys, I was sitting down earlier this morning thinking about this game we used to do in school where by you would have some paper, and you and some friends would take it in turn to draw sections from a monster! For example, i would draw the head, then fold the paper over, the next person would draw the upper torso and arms then fold the paper over, then the next person would draw the lower body fold it over... then the legs fold it over etc etc.... so nobody actualy knew what the finished monster would look like untill you unfolded it all.

NOW, imagine doing that with sections of a map. Kinda like the way the mapping contest is done, Maybe have a general outline of a CP map. Divide it into squares (of whatever size) and get people to fill that area with whatever they desire. Submit it to whoever is brave enough to put the map together and see what you get!

I understand all the stumbling blocks involved but you have to admit it would probably produce some cool/bad/funny/rediculous outcomes.

It would probably work out better as a big rectangular Arena map maybe. People create whatever objects/buildings/themes to go into there set section of the map.

Its just a loony brainstorm i had but if anybody shares this crazy idea please say :p would be cool if something came out of it. Even if it got dragged out for a year.

Thanks,
A crazy and tired benmols

Or as for example a payload map: The communtiy brainstorms a theme, the general layout., etc. Modelers, texture artists and mappers would then cooperate on creating a tf2maps.net masterpiece.
