Attack/Defend-CTF Hybrid Prefab - Simple A/D-CTF hybrid prefab

Turns out nobody has done this yet (as far as I'm aware - the only other guides I could find were hacky and outdated), so I decided to make my own Attack/Defend-CTF Hybrid gamemode prefab, with the aim of making it as simple and bare-bones as possible while still functional and presentable enough for a public release.

Contains two playstyles - instant capture (HAARP/Vector style) and timed capture (Dauphin style) - and also a few notes on how each one works.

I'm planning on updating this with multi-stage versions of each playstyle too, but for now, here's a Basic AD/CTF Hybrid™ for your convenience.

Cool, I've just been fudging it with my own logic but using this will be much easier.

Isnt is like Escort from TFC?
It's more like Avanti and TFC Dustbowl. Blu team takes the flag from their spawn to the control points and Red team has to stop them. (Unless that's what you mean by 'escort', I just think of the Hunted gamemode)

* fixed timed-capture logic letting BLU capture the first point without the flag (thanks to Moonrat for spotting this one)

* fixed the logic sometimes giving the victory to the wrong team (thanks abp)

Everyone who downloaded 1.0 should redownload this and re-implement it in their maps.

Does this use the SD voice lines (with a choice to use "the device" or "the Australium"... and isn't there a third one I'm forgetting?) instead of the CTF ones? I feel like if people had their choice, they would use the CTF ones exactly zero percent of the time given that you're not actually taking anything from the other team.

In fact, I would personally brand this mode as A/D SD instead of A/D CTF, as the latter implies something like how ctf_infiltration works.

I posted this on the discord channel as well, but if anyone is using the prefab for the A/D ctf where you need to stand on the point with the flag in order to capture; You need to change the logic so that capping the previous point enables the next func_flagdetectionzone instead of the capture zone. Otherwise you can just capture the point without needing the flag at all anymore.

You'll have to delete each logic string that enables the capture zones, and create names for each flagdetectionzone.


Edit: Oh, and the capture point props need to be set to Skin 2 on capture, not 3.

Happens to the best of us, lol. I had forgotten entirely about this contest and the map I was making for it, which eventually turned into a regular attack/defend map that I never finished, lol.
