Cabrakan - Do you dare to enter the ancient mayan mountain pass?

- 5 control point map! BLU attacks, RED defends!
- After capping 2 points, BLU can try to take the final point and win the round! Howerver, progress towards it comes more easier the more points they capture...
- Custom images for the points HUD. Each point has it's own name.
- Supports up to 32 players, has changing spawns and jungle!

Note, this is beta 3 release. There are bound to be bugs and issues but the map is fully playable! Please report all things you will find! Thanks.

This looks really nice, definitely one of the best-looking Mayann maps I've seen yet. I had a look around and I had a few things to say:

The spytech floor texture seems a bit odd paired with the metal and wood. Same thing with the wooden ceiling in Red's spawnroom.

The texture alignment on these steps is very repetitive. Try offsetting each one a bit. Almost every staircase in the map is like this.

The mixture of stone and wood here looked odd to me. Maybe have a bit of a wooden lip on the side of the stone, so it's like wooden planks set on top?

There are a lot of texture misalignments on this building. The roofs seem a bit thick as well.

You can stand on the structure beams inside some of the buildings. Mainly this one, but also inside some of the spawn rooms, although they shouldn't matter as much gameplay wise.

This tunnel is too dark to even see team colors

This door seems to be broken. It won't open for either team, but seems to try to open toward the player instead of to the sides? Check to make sure the doors are moving in the right direction.

For some reason these control points still showed up as blue after the round reset?


Overall, I think the lighting could be brighter across the whole map. I like the contrast between the bright and shadowy areas, but some areas are too dark to see clearly.

There seems to be a lack of sound as well, apart from the occasional waterfall or dripping leak. Isn't there some sort of jungle soundscape in the pack?

The stairs, displacement enhancement, clip adding is on my list. That one door is indeed broken, i have already fixed it but haven't pulled update out yet. The house actually doesn't have many misaligned textures, it's just the swamp texture that makes it look like it. I'll also improve the lighting in tunnel.

As for those control points, weird. I have no idea yet but ill look into if i see anything like that. They were fine on playtests before. Thanks for these, i'll make use of the ideas.

The previous name was chupacabra, which basically is a mythical creature but people seemed to convert that as "goat eater". So now i chose Cabrakan, which is supposedly mythical mayan mountain god.

What seems to be the issue? Did you get there without noclip? Because areaportals open only when players can access that area.
