So I have never made a tf2 related item, but I would like to work on a item for tf2 for the scout, should I post a concept of the image on here or should I keep it to myself, I know how to texture map and make 3d models using maya. But I really don't know how to upload it to the workshop or anything like that. I guess in simple is, I need help.

You can post an image of what you made, or the concept - either way, check out the "How To Enter" post linked in the OP.

I went and made a concept image for the item and will start the modeling process asap, it really won't be too hard of a concept to execute and I have been thinking of making an item like this for quite some time

Started on Comrade Questions V. 4, figure I'd kill 3 birds with one stone: I was planning to remake this in the first place, as well as it'd fit for the Frontline Event, and this Jam gives me an opportunity to work on it!

It's going to be a BUSY weekend IRL though... I'm getting Baptised on Sunday and that's going to eat up most of my day. We'll see what happens though! I'm off to work, see you guys in about 8 hours!

Started on Wednesday, and now have a more or less complete version of my map I have uploaded!

King of the hill - Moonblast!
http://tf2maps.net/downloads/moonblast.1845/

Enjoy fighting over the information relay (that is totally not made up) to get your claim to fame for blowing up the moon!

But rockets dont work like that you might say, and I say, Haha! You are very correct!
How come they can breathe in space? They have very powerful lungs!
It looks like the command base is on the moon, but its in the sky! That is a very moon like asteroid they are on, indeed!
How come the moon is so small but so close? They used a shrink ray of course!
But how did they- Stop!

Ive only tested the map with bots, but if it gets playtested I would be more than happy to make changes before my early due date arrives!
The only problem being that I will be at Disney, without a laptop, so go figure.

Enjoy!

I have a question pertinent to my project: is there forced FOV even when you create your own server? I've tried using the console command to change it, but it doesn't seem to work. I'm trying to take screenshots of maps, but with such a small, distorted view of things, those screenshots are . . . not great.

Just curious, thanks!

What happens if we're late posting it? I'm working furiously but cutting corners and stuff and not entirely sure if I can finish.

I think I can do it but id just like to know what would happen

I think everything stands, if entered sometime in the 72hr period you are designated to work, it should still count

Hey all.. I caught wind of the 72hr Jam late last week. Though its been quite some time since I was active playing TF2 let alone mapping I have taken the day off work Monday (Australian time) to enter into the mix. That said its been about 3 years since I opened Hammer, let alone 3DS max..

Its possible that some of you may remember a project I put together where I mirrored some of the more popular Valve maps at the time - http://tf2maps.net/downloads/mirrored-maps-series-1.284/ and http://tf2maps.net/downloads/mirrored-maps-series-2.286/

What Im planning is to produce a new mirrored map in about the final 18hours of the jam..

Is that something people would be interested in? Is producing a new mirrored map within the rules of the jam?

At this stage I am planning to produce a mirrored version of pl_upward but am open to suggestions if there is a more popular map that I should choose but it would have to be an official Valve map and not the work of a community mapper.

Looking at the map I know there is at least a couple of props that will need to be flipped in a 3D modeling program.. seeing as I dont have max installed and or the required plugins is there perhaps someone out there that might be willing to help me out with that? From experience I would suggest that it would be only 2 or 3 models at most.

I've also never done any streaming before but am willing to give it a go it its worthwhile.. perhaps a pm with some pro tips on setting it up would be appreciated from someone as well.. I assume I just need an account on Twitch and Ill post a link here?

I think mirrors are in the spirit of things, still takes effort. Just make sure a mirrored version of the map doesn't exist already.
