I recently got the Frontline Content Pack, and I was looking forward to using it, then I realized I didn't know how to install it, if someone could link me to a tutorial or something, I would be grateful, thanks.

Inside the content drop zip file there will be a bunch of folders and .vbsp files. Drop these into your steam/steamapps/common/team fortress 2/tf directory.

The necessary files are:
materials
models
particles
all of the vbsp files

This is an outdated method, use tf/custom.

If you're installing content to use in your map, you do not want to use the custom folder. The custom folder is for mods.

I agree, it's generally not good practice, but IIRC CompilePal will still pack any custom content in the custom folder?

I don't really want to seem rude, but this question has been asked a lot of times, the answer for it is also in the readme file of any content pack, and, if I remember, on the pack webpage. Why do people refuse to do any research?

this is poor advice honestly

if you have a packing tool that can find the custom folder then putting stuff in there allows you to organise your custom content much easier

while some content packs use their own file structures, a lot insert into existing ones, this makes it a lot harder to determine what content belongs to what packs and by extension what authors

it's completely up to personal preference and putting it into the tf/ folders is technically more professional, but please don't shoot down something that works and that a lot of people find easier

Anything in the directory materials/models is for the model's textures. Make sure that the models folder in the materials/models folder in the Frontline pack go to tf/materials/models, not tf/models.
