CP Valley - Based somewhere in the California Central Valley, Blu attempts to seize Red's stockpile of nukes.

This is my first real map. Very WIP still, but let me know what you all think of the layout or any other issues. :)

Pretty overdetailed for an Alpha1. I suppose it's an A/D,right?

Looks promising. I like that CP on the last pic. (probably the last CP?)

This map is very promising. I especially like the initial detailing of the brick building outside blue's spawn - it's an interesting direction to go in for sure.

There are a few things that could use changes though. To start, your door shutter speeds are quite slow and it's easy for the faster classes to bump into them when trying to get through. 500 hammer units per second is a good speed that avoids this issue without looking too ridiculous.

The map is also quite dark. The inside areas are fine but the outdoors one could use with a brighter or perhaps less tinted light source.

Finally, the route through the brick building on the left from blue's perspective is too long and narrow to be of any use. If you find a way to shorten the corridor or to turn it into more of a gameplay space rather than a route it might be more fun.

I also want to point out that the map's name is a bit generic and probably taken already. There's most certainly one (or more) maps with that name. Try to think up something that catches people's eye, and with a good map under the name it'll be remembered much more easily.

Yes I started out just working on detailing a space and eventually thought to myself "hey this isn't half bad!" and made the rest of the map.

Thank you! Thanks for all the crits, I will definitely look into all of these.

Will do! Naming was never my strong suit but I will try, thanks!

Would it be worth just trying to do a different map? I did do some updates based on the feedback, but after watching the demo it didn't seem like people were enjoying playing on it. It was a good learning experience but I would rather not waste my time on something that isn't very fun.

General idea seemed promising imo, but requiring lots of hard work to improve the map. From a scratch. You could put it in the orphaned map repository for a chance that another mapper remakes this map to be good using yours map as reference, since how it's made seemed worthless.

It's not bad but there are a ton of simple things that would need to be changed just to get it to an enjoyable level. It's up to you whether you want to go through all that or just take what you've learned to another map.
