Is there a world brush sealing that open area (where the line makes the circle) off from the void? You should propably post the vmf for us to get a better idea of the problem.

Here's it with everything on.
I draw/write bad with a mouse.

I don't have a touchpad. I can't afford it.
Oops, Forgot to turn off the portal file when I screenshot this.

Third post in a row.

I need to keep this post open in case something else happens. I have a lot more to solve, but hammer won't let me open all pointfiles at the time.

I assume it's because you ended the portal area on a displacement, so it leaks through it or something.

Also note that when using func_areaportals you have to make sure they completely close off a room for example. You can't have a single area portal if its not a part of a closed off section of the level.

So if you have a room you will have to make sure all the windows and doors leading in and out of said room are closed with func_areaportals.

Edit: Will check the vmf later when I get home.

Had a look at the VMF. A lot of your brushwork is untidy and off-grid, which can make it easy to create leaks and fairly difficult to plug them. (Generally, with an alpha, you won't need to go under a grid size of 16 hammer units unless you know what you're doing)

There's also a lot of wasted space under the displacements and behind the buildings, which is both bad for performance and also very good for creating sneaky areaportal leaks in places you wouldn't expect.

Also, two other obvious areaportal leaks I found: one going through this fan, and one going through this window

And here, the VMF with the areaportal bugs fixed: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j388s0bu575racy/pl_snowforest_a4_fix.vmf?dl=0

This A4 was intended to be B1, so yuh. All I have to say is thank you.

Also that VMF was the one with the buggy playerclips (the ones that reached below to the roof trying to reach the ground) because I had to redo the terrible skybox in A3 and younger (excluding A1 becuase that was the worst. xD
