First of all I am quite new to map making so try to keep any answers simple so I can understand you.

As the title suggests whenever I try to do anything, be it move the camera around or just try to place a block it will zoom in quite far and skew everything.

A couple of pictures that I hope will illustrate my point

Any help at all will be appreciated :)

I am absolutely certain this is caused by Razer game booster. Make sure it's not enabled in Synapse or anything.

It could be stuck in orthographic projection mode rather than prespective. It would have a very similar effect, but I may just be over analysing this.

If that's the case would the view be switching back to normal when I go to another view? If so how would I fix that?

It looks as if it's rendering in full screen, but displaying it in a s,aller window. Try making the viewport fullscreen and see if the issue persists.

When I go fullscreen it does appear to fix it, do you know how to stop it displaying in fullscreen in the smaller window?

Maybe your video driver has some weird thing that auto-scales the FOV so you have more peripheral vision in fullscreen than in windows? I've never heard of such a feature, but I've often felt that automatically bumping up the FOV when I go fullscreen in Minecraft would be cool because more of the game is in my peripheral vision IRL.
