i suppose that, but i wanted to know what exactly does and why to me dont affect, yet...Cubemaps only affects reflective surfaces. You may not have them in your map, but most of metal on guns is reflective, so on later detailing stages it's better to have them.
Thanks (for ignoring cloak) for that information, ill try...It does. Join any of Valve maps (I mean played, not cp_cloak) and look at sniper rifle's glass. It reflects something that's behind you. Now look there in your map. Since it doesn't have cubemaps, nothing will be reflected. Other things may not be so obviously reflective, e.g. the scattergun just reflects the slight color (ugly-white when lacking cubemaps).-
Now, you may not bother managing cubemaps on your map, at alpha when other things are important adding and building cubemaps is a waste of time. But you'll have to place them at beta, when it gets to detailing.
Are you using an env_tonemap_controller and/or a custom skybox?
i use the tonemap and i have a custom skybox in Ixem (Made for me), WaterCity and Toxine, actually im working in a new map (1CP) and in this im not gonna use the custom skybox...Are you using an env_tonemap_controller and/or a custom skybox?
