Having some problems with the map resource pack

So I've tried a couple times to download Boojum Snark's map resource pack, but every time I try to install it, it will go through with the download normally. But what happens is whenever it finishes downloading I click on it and it just automatically deletes itself... Anyone have any ideas?

You're clicking on the uninstaller. Once installed all you have to do is open up Hammer, then search for either the gametype library on your computer or do whatever else it is you want to be doing with the ABS pack.

Yeah, when you install it, it will automatically extract the contents to the default directory. The vmf libraries went to steamapps/common/Team Fortress 2/sourcesdk_content/tf/mapsrc. Once you install you don't need to open/run anything else; it is already ready to use.

Where is the map that has all the previews of the props?

They're in the same place as the directory i mentioned earlier in this thread. They're called ABS_PropLibrary_Part_A.vmf, Part_B, and Part_C respectively.
Part A has general decorating props like vehicles, track pieces, and crates;
B has skybox props and out-of-bounds props like cliffs, trees, and buildings;
C has railings, fences, doors, windows, and stairs.

They're split up into 3 vmf's because hammer can't handle loading all the props at once. Also, the vmf's don't have all of the props in existence, just the more commonly used ones.

Question: Is this directory where one puts any custom downloads like props or textures? I've been meaning to add some of the items from the site here to my computer, but I wasn't sure where they go.

You sure you're looking at \Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\sourcesdk_content\tf\mapsrc? If there really isn't anything in there, run through the installer again and make sure you didn't accidentally uncheck the vmf libraries (since you can choose which parts of the pack to install).

Question: Is this directory where one puts any custom downloads like props or textures? I've been meaning to add some of the items from the site here to my computer, but I wasn't sure where they go.

Most properly prepared downloads will come in a premade folder structure that makes them easy to install; just merge the models and materials folders from the download with those of the same name in \Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf. If there are no models and materials folders there, you can create them.

Alternately, if you want to keep things in your custom folder instead:
\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\<anything>\models
\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\<anything>\materials

Tried reinstalling but to no avail... Also where do you choose what parts of the pack to install? I looked but couldn't find anything and is the .exe file that downloads the unistaller?

Obodobear is having trouble with the ABS Mapping Resource pack.

He creates a new thread instead of necro-bumping the original resource thread

Obodobear is smart. Be like Obodobear

I'm talking about the installer executable, the thing you get when you download the pack from the site (Mapping_Resource_Pack_2014-11-06.exe). On this page you can choose specific parts of the pack, and the next page asks you to choose an install location for the libraries. Either go with the default location or pick a new one (like wherever you keep your other vmfs, for example) and then look there for the files. If you still don't see them, then I don't know what else to say, but I could at least provide you with a copy of mine.

It never lets me open it for some reason though, every time I click on it after it finished downloading it automatically deletes itself

I don't understand what you're doing wrong because the installer walks you through it step by step and it should put everything in the default directory. Are you absolutely sure you're not clicking the uninstaller?

I've had this same problem before, and it was with my anti virus software. Try disabling any antivirus stuff if you have it. The software picked the installer up as an unsafe file, so it auto matically deleted it when I downloaded it.
