cp_viper_industries - attack/defend, 3 capture points

Viper's Industrial Complex or Viper_Industries for short, was built around an old daming system for hydro power.
It has long since been rescaped into a true battle ground,
from open air areas scattered with cargo shipping containers(used to cover up the true nature of the complex from the public) to the final area where you discover the truth about RED's evil plan to bomb everything BLU.
Choose your path wisely or the madness will set in, as the RED's have poisoned the BLU's drinking water with real viper vemon (they have been drinking beer ever since)
This may just be your last fight,
enjoy my creation

Wow, the detail. Has this been ever playtested?

To me it looks more like propspam than detail.

Propspam is not a good thing really, it generally just makes places look clustered and unfocused so you dont really want to do it often. Generally detailing is better off made with geometry and shapes mainly, helped greatly by lighting then accented with props. Not the majority being props.

Also what viper said about it being tested, i too am curious and if not you should get it tested.

Feels almost like CSGO's new Nuke, with all the pipes and beams going everywhere. Looks pretty, but also feels kinda prop spammy.

Having roofs flush with the buildings like that looks bad.

only been tested over months of design with bots unfortunately, I live in a place with very few tf2 players and most of them are total twats, so no , not play tested, would love it if someone could show me how.

I had to cut out a lot of stuff from the final release due to optimization, there was so much more in this map that had to be cut even thou I was unhappy with cutting it, gameplay is really what I was after, not having flush building tops

sorry I am a bit of a noob, can you please explain a little more
This place on the forum is where gamedays are announced. A gameday is an event when for some time the server has maps running that are in early development (alphas and early beta stages) so the map can get tested on layout design and detailing things. I recommend you subscribe to that forum so you know when an event is coming up. Once it's announced, you simply follow the thread's posting guidelines on how to get your map submitted.

An imp (or impromptu test) is when some people in the TF2maps Steam chat decide that they want to playtest maps already on the server just to give as much feedback to the map's developer(s) as possible. An imp is usually announced in the TF2maps Steam group, so be sure you're in that group. To get your map on the server, you have to know some Steam chat bot commands, all of which you can learn about here.

Finally, when your map is tested, you can head over to feedback.tf2maps.net, sign in via Steam, then search for and claim your map so you can see all the feedback people gave when playing on the server.

no no , it is a tf2 skybox, everything in this map is tf2, nothing packed except for the menu_photos (which came out bad quality for some reason) and the .nav

No, that's definitely a Half-Life 2 skybox.

That skybox IS from Half-Life 2. I found out the one here is called sky_day01_01.
damn, it is sky_day_01_01, i thought it was a tf2 skybox, pakrat never asked to add it to the pack so always thought it was a tf2 map, well, you live you learn!
I did have some issues ,cant remember the error which hammer spat out when trying to use a couple other tf2 skyboxs (I didnt want any errors in my log file, so this one didnt give that error...and it looked good

Iirc packing the .nav can crash your map on servers. I may be wrong though.
I did ask around on reddit tf2 forum, someone said they fixed that issue on the halloween update, no one has reported any issues with it yet so...
