Edit 1: To clarify, I was taking my times from U.S. Central Standard. http://www.timetemperature.com/tzus/time_zone.shtml

Having been back for a month now, I am finally getting into the 'organizing stuff mindset' again. After speaking w/ the other moderators and Colt Seavers (coltsplayground.net), I have come up w/ what I think qualifies as a plan. Since most peeps probly come home from school/work/etc. on Friday, I figure that Friday evening would be a good time to 'officially' have a play for fun event. I say 'officially' b/c you really don't need an excuse to hop on any of the servers w/ your fellow TF2M peeps during the week.

Now the big one, and what I know a lot of folks have been concerned about; testing days. Nineaxis and ChronoTriggerFan took the initiative on this, of course just a few hours before I write up this post, lol. http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=3895 However, I am pleased to say that we can do this every week. Since a lot of peeps actually do stuff on the weekend, 'official' time for map testing is set for Saturday morning and afternoon. Unfortunately, due to some abuse w/ the server upload, that feature is no longer available. Though I have some ideas on how to work around the problem.

So here is the meat of this whole thing. You can find all of this information in the events forum as well. Obviously, all times can be changed as user needs dictate. After all, this is for the benefit of you guys :)

Casual Game/Play For Fun: Every Friday night from 1600-2400. Just an excuse to relax at the end of the week. Our server is available, plus any of the fine ones from Colts.
TF2M 72.233.93.233:27015
Colt1 81.19.219.104:27015
Colt2 84.45.84.166:27015
Colt3 84.45.84.166:27018
You can also round up a few members in the chat room and just hop on your favorite server together as well.

Map Testing: Every Saturday from 1200-1600 on our server; 72.233.93.233:27015 Just post your request in the appropriate thread in the Events forum.

Guidelines For Testing: Due to issues past and present, I am laying down a few rules. Map testing should be a fun experience to talk seriously w/ your fellow mappers and gamers. That said, please don't be discouraged or scared while reading the first and most important rule.

1. Absolutely no bitching! The people who show up for testing do so because of their appreciation for custom TF2. Most of these individuals are also looking to get some feedback on their map. It is very much a group effort. When we first began the testing events, there was a lot of disrespect and jerkiness if things were not perfect. Example: It's one thing to say 'I think we need more than 5 peeps per team for this part of the map.' As opposed to 'How can I get good feedback like this? The admins/testers/whoever really need to pay more attention. Why bother like this?' Should I hear anything from the latter category, I won't think twice about banning your ass.

2. In order for things to run smoothly, testing requests must be made 1 week prior. This seems pretty harsh I know, but there really is no better way. The big problem we always have is planning. Maps requested for testing will be added to the server as soon as possible. This has to be done manually by an admin b/c of the aforementioned abuse of the direct upload service. Though I have an idea to get around it, for now you'll just have to tough it out.

3. You may not get sufficient testing on the day you request; don't freak out. Whether b/c of a low turnout or everyone gets tired after a couple hours. Simply post a request for the following week, saying only a couple peeps were available, or you only got like 5min. Such incidents will take priority during the next testing day. If there happen to be a dozen people looking for feedback that day, you'll have to be accommodating.

4. Reread #1.

It's not military time, it's a 24 hour clock system.. which really isn't that hard to read.

Map Testing: Every Saturday from 0900-1300

What time zone is this for?

I'm presuming it's not 0-London/Dublin/Lisbon time. Perhaps it would be helpful to include a "translation" of the specific American time zone to british as well, since there are a few of us in the community :D

military time is the 24 hour clock system <_<

and its not hard to read...but when I 1st read it I thought he was making some kind of joke regarding how gameday would always happen like... from 1830 to 2400 i thought those were years...took me a moment to realize how dumb that was but still
