Are all of the custom content packs (ie: Swamp, Construction and Japan) supported by default in tf2, or will I have to use VIDE or Pakrat to pack them?
*Also can someone link me an article about packing custom content :)*
Thanks in advance

These content packs are featured in official maps, yes, but they are not in the game files. As of the Gun Mettle update Valve started leaving custom assets packed in the bsps instead of adding them to vpks, so if you're using them yourself, you have to pack them too.

The automated scanning processes of packing applications ignore content that is included with the game, even if you have installed a copy of it in your game's asset folders. For example, let's say you use an asset from the Swamp pack that is also used in Mountainlab - a custom map that was incorporated in to the game prior to Gun Metal. VIDE/Pakrat/CompilePal will know that this asset is in one of TF2's VPK files, so will not pack it. It's incredibly clever!
