CTF underground dock - underground!

This map has had a few new additions since A2.
All required custom textures are in the BSP file.


They include:

The tower has now got an lift (WIP)
CTF briefcases has an hidden surprise.
The red tower has a security office with working cameras??? (WIP)



Bugs:
There is an difficult leak I'm trying to plug in the underground dock!

Hi, there. May I suggest using your forum thread post to talk about the map? When people land on it, they only see information about updates to it, but they don't get to read about your design goals, the look and feel of the map, the story, and so on.

Also, if you could take some screenshots of the map in TF2, rather than the camera viewport in Hammer, that would be fantastic. It sound petty, but the reason I ask is because in-game screenshots look a lot nicer than a shot of the map in Hammer. They have proper lighting and you don't see any background logic like trigger brushes.

If you need help fixing the leak, feel free to come in to the Steam chat room for advice and support.

I just took a look at your map and I have a lot to say:
  • From the looks of it, it's impossible for either team to win. Red can't get down into the dock area to get the blu intel, and the trigger_hurt around the red intel kills anyone before they can reach it. Also, why does it hurt red players too? It's their own intel room?
  • Blu will never make it out of their underground dock because there's only one exit that's easily camp-able by red.
  • The inside of red's tower is so dark it's impossible to see. Plus it's way too tall. Imagine being a blu person who spent 2 minutes running up a tight stairwell just to get murdered by the kill trigger around red's intel. Then they spawn all the way back underground.
  • Your immense sightlines will make this map a stale sniper war. WAYYY too much open space.
  • Many of your brushes and props aren't touching the floor
  • You have a solid prop_static (?) version of the briefcase in both intel rooms alongside the one you can actually pick up.
  • I don't understand what that pony texture is doing on red's spawn door?
Basically this map will need an insane amount of fixing if it's ever gonna be playable. There's a reason all CTF maps are symmetrical; to give both teams a fair chance. On this map, neither team can win, but red will just dominate blu mercilessly. I personally think reworking your idea completely would be the way to go.

To fix your leak, put your compile log in http://www.interlopers.net/errors/ and it will tell you exactly what's causing the leak and you can fix it from there.

fixed a few issues that was in A3.

* Malfunctioning Elevator fixed

* BLU has more elevators to the surface

* fixed malfunctioning booby trap in the red intel room.

* leaks fixed!!

* security cameras now work.

* broken fortress door fixed.

* broken doors on the security room fixed

This update turns the tide in more of blue's favour.

There is now an extra stairway for them to use to get to the intel and after a certain condition... the said stairwell is locked out to red team members..

No setries allowed on the intel room floor of the tower.

I don't know if they do because my TF2 isn't working. They work in Garrys mod ok!

Not going to lie, this map has a lot of problems. For example, there are no spawn rooms. Both teams spawn in the same room. Also the map is very confusing. Not sure what is Blu team's job as they cannot deliver the intelligence to anywhere and Red team can't pickup the Blu intelligence since there isn't one.

If tf2 isn't working, trying verifying your game cache. Go to your library, right click on Tf2, click properties, go to the Local Files tab, and click Verify Game Integrity. It will take a couple minutes, but it is checking for missing/messed up files in your game, and it replaces them.

I have fixed that in A8 and I've redone it in A9 which is being uploaded soon.

for whoever is asking about the pony texture is doing on red's spawn door, that is the red spawn room visualizer.

In A10, i have completely redone the tower. I will have an A10 availiable soon. I'm just doing some tweaking of an few things.. :)

I'm now fixing a minor door issue. It's the red spawn room and intel rooms doors are conflicting. The triggers and doors are correctly named they just don't wanna coperate.

I found while testing. Everything else works ok.
