Hi, there.

The overriding materials and models live in your tf/custom dir inside the ABS_MRP VPK files. These files should have been removed by the Uninstaller, but if they exist you can delete them yourself.

Game models should not be affected by the ABS pack as it does not override any of them. Certainly, if you join an official Valve server, TF2 will only use its default assets. You should perform a cache verification on TF2 in Steam, which will check all your files and make sure they are okay. If you have set up custom Hammer compile options (expert compile mode), you should back up Team Fortress 2/bin/CmdSeq.wc before you verify your game cache, as this file will be replaced, and you will lose any custom compile settings you made.

If by invisible models you mean invisible players, that's a Source engine bug that is easily fixed by typing "record fix;stop" into the console.

Otherwise, do you have any other mods installed that may be breaking?

The resource pack does not interfere with any existing props. Whatever your problem is, it's coincidental, and not caused by the resource pack.

When you verified your game cache, what did Steam say when it finished?

If all else fails uninstall TF2 via Steam. Then pay a visit to the Team Fortress 2 folder on your hard drive and delete that as well (it still remains there with things like configs and custom content even after telling Steam to delete everything). Then redownload the game. That should fix anything that wasn't included with the stock game and remove any non-standard file.

I'm unaware of any software or driver conflicts that can cause the issue you describe, Corfix. Vel0city's suggestion is what Valve Support would tell you to do, but it's a lot of stuff to have to download. If you want to try deleting and redownloading some TF2 content piece by piece instead, do it with each of the following folders in turn. Making sure TF2 is shut down, delete a folder and then verify your game cache in Steam to download it again. It will be as if it were a new installation.

  • tf/custom
  • tf/cfg
  • tf/models
  • tf/materials

When you say "invisible props", are you referring to the resupply cabinets in the spawn rooms? Those will sometimes disappear, it's a bug Valve introduced awhile ago. As Matty has already said, the resource pack has nothing to do with your game, only Hammer's TF2 configuration.

no it is not the resupply cabinets. it is some trees in the background you can see the shadows of the trees. but you can not see the trees in the map hightower

What I'm suggesting you do is delete the first folder in the list from your hard drive. Then go to Steam, right-click TF2, click Properties. Click the Local Files tab and click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache. That will download the folder from the internet. When it's done, try Hightower and see if the trees are still missing. If they are, then close TF2 and do the process over again but with the next folder on the list.

The reason I suggest dong this is because sometimes, you might have some files in these folders that could interfere with your game content. It's very unlikely to happen but it's the only potential solution I can give you, I'm afraid.

Hammer for TF2 is pre-configured to use TF2's assets. It does this by way of being inside the game folder itself, and having its asset paths specified in its Settings interface. It also uses a FGD file with TF2 entities in it, which is tf.fgd. The default installation of TF2 Hammer doesn't need any configuration, but some of Hammer's settings are stored in the registry so if you remove and reinstall it, some things will remain the same, such as window and toolbar positions. None of this has an effect on the game, though.
