just from the screencaps i can see there's a lot of long straight corridors and everything is super flat

would recommend making it windier and giving it a ton of height variation

Generally speaking, non-forward spawns should always have more than one exit.

You don't need to 'redeem' yourself. You just need to learn level design. Take me for example. My first map (For TF2Classic), was a literal rectangle, with each of the four teams shoved in a corner and a thing in the middle. I made it on May 4th, 2015.

Ever since then, I've avoided making my own maps from scratch, deciding studying and working on abandoned pre-existing one's would be better. My most recent map, Cruise, has faired much better in feedback. I published the most recent version on December 4th, 2015.

You'll improve, and It'll take some time, but you can only do that by making maps/mistakes again, and again, and again.
