Map duplication help

I have built half of a koth map, and I want do duplicate it. I select all my brushes , props, etc., and shift drag, and hammer chrashes. Using task manager, I know that it's not over powering my cpu, ram, or disk, and i have a pretty new high end gpu, so i don't think its that either. What is it? A setting in hammer? Please tell me below.

I think it just has to do with execution, there is a "paste special" option if you copy then right click. I think what is happening that you may need to check your cache for tf2, but otherwise this should not be happening

Shift-dragging can be fairly intensive. Try copying then pasting it, and this video is pretty helpful too
