The same process every time. I compile the map, I pack in the custom content with VIDE, I start up TF2, click the workshop button, select the map I want to upload, add desc, gamemode, picture, etc. I click upload.

And the little window with "Uploading content, please wait" pops up. It stays there for 10 minutes, then spits out "Error! Failed to publish to workshop. Please make sure that you don't have any files with the same name."

So what can I do? I managed to upload the unpacked file just fine, but the one with the content isn't working.

The same error popped up even when I never uploaded a file to the workshop! Even if I try to update the unpacked file, same error.

EDIT: I even uploaded another map of mine perfectly fine, whats wrong with this file? the file is only 27.7mb, so I'm pretty sure it's not over the map limit. Hell, i'll even post it in a few minutes

It's pl_dambusters_a2.bsp

I tried uploading it yesterday night when I had 0 maps uploaded to the workshop, but it gave me the same error. This morning I uploaded the unpacked version, and it worked. If I try to update it or post a new one, it gives me the error.

So basically

Yesterday- Tried to upload, error

Today- Unpacked upload success, update error. Same map with diff name, error

I think it might have to do with packing stuff, but I don't know how that would impact it or what the workaround would be

Ok, yes. The Steam workshop repacks and compresses maps automaticly, so manually repacking a map won't work. Though, if it's an alpha it shouldn't go onto the Steam workshop. The workshop is for finished maps that you want the general community to acknowledge you for. Those not inlclined in mapping may not know the testing process and your map may be underrated and simply forgotten.

Still though, it's probably a repacking problem. Also, I'm not sure though, changing the filename of the map before updating may break something, again, not sure though.
