Listen, I've searched the site for just a plain explanation of the proper way to upload maps, since me map is almost done, but to no avail.

Considering I use no custom textures or models, what do I have to do?

With an account on the site you should just be able to upload a file to the site in the download section regardless of format. Though, it is a good idea to compress it with winrar/zip.

I think he is referring to uploading maps to a server and retaining his custom content.

To do that you need to download a program called "Pakrat" and open up your .bsp with it and there should be buttons to have it do an automatic search for nonstandard files in the the BSP and then simply have it add them.

Edit: In my experience though, it sometimes overlooks the textures required for custom models in automatic, so after you do auto you need to add the other manually. Its been awhile since Ive used it so its not all on the top of my head, but it wasn't difficult

this is a key part dox...

if you have done nothing but use hammer then you just need to grab the bsp file out of either your tf2 maps folder or your source sdk content folder
then you find a site you can upload it to and select it

Technically although I've used nothing but hammer, I have downloaded a couple of custom textures that might have ended up in a map. (For example the current PL competition requires that two tf2maps.net posters appear in the map). Presumably these textures are items that this pakrat program would pick up and insert into the BSP for me, right?

are you talking about uploading maps to host on this site, our server, or your hosted server?
