needs loooooads more detail and your background/skybox terrain needs to be looooads smoother.
Also, did I mention details?

have you played the iceworld maps? ...there was little to no detail in them at all.
I was trying to carry over that type of thing to this map.

Detail in general is there for one thing in my mind.

It cuts down repetitiveness. In general no one will enjoy playing in a clean walls room over and over again. Add some dirty, maybe a couch in the middle and items around and although it doesnt effect your game play, it adds a lot of stuff to look at, meaning its harder to see the use of the same .25 texture scale across the whole ground.

I'm all for a clean map, don't get me wrong. But there is a huge difference to a "clean" map and a "bare" map.

If gameplay on this is a blast, i really hope you move it to a clean map =)

Ok you've done it.

If your goal is to create an iceworld for tf2 as a mapper. FAIL. :sneaky2:

Iceworld has been made by a monkey that found a computer with steam.

Have any of you even played the map? Because as it stands right now, it only has 2 downloads. Seems that you're all jumping on the bandwagon the first poster has started and not thinking for yourselves.

P.S. For the record, Iceworld was created long before Steam even existed.

I wasnt on any bandwagon. I was simply saying why its good to have detail. As for the 2 downloads, The screenshots themselfs show everything about the map, no offense. Because its generic and detail-less you can almost tell my the screenshots how the map will play. Past that though i havent been on resently but tonight i will download this and give a run though.

I understand the details are lacking, its only a start with TF2..
This was just a quick crash course for me with TF2 mapping, with the entities (restricted entry, capture zones, etc..) different from counter-strike maps I used to do back in the day.
My first CS map was as similar, an Iceworld modification, which we ran on our server for a little while until it was later taken out of the rotation for newer maps I created.
My next map should have more detail, I'm working on a linear capture point map, which won't be anything like this.
If people like how this plays I may consider ramping it up a little on the visuals.

Don't mean to sound like a prick in my responses, I just hate when people judge something on one aspect alone. Half the custom maps I see on TF2 have purple on most of their models still, yet they're in a bunch of server map rotations.

yeah, this was usually how I released maps on our server, if people like how it plays and/or need fixes, I'll throw out a revision and rename it, if not I leave it as is. I guess its a little different getting people to play them if you don't have a server to introduce them on.
I'm new to releasing them on public forums such as this.
