With the start of a new project, and my return to the King of the Hill set up; I am trying to make a hazard that when you capture the center point: molten metal pours down on top of the people on the point, additionally it would pour every three minutes. Looking at this while typing, I know how I can do it, but the alternate reason is to give a hazard guide to new players. oh, and besides enabling and disabling a timer within a trigger, is there a way to make it act like a train?

edit: train in the regards of the moving hurt box

I would assume you'd be able to have it move the same way as a train, just using a vertical track path.

I got that part down, but how would I get the hellfire death notice? In this case, and yes I got the timer working

It doesn't have a specific hellfire(used as the skull on fire)

Note edit: what is the damage type for pyro anyway? If exclusive from fire

you could just have big bucket hang over the point and it does a sort of particle shower effect when it turns over, activating a trigger_hurt

agreed, but its a pump drain, pouring molten steel into a nearby crucible(beneath the point underground)

It shouldn't be hard to get someone to make you a custom texture, and even a custom model for a realistic pouring effect, if and when you have a mostly-finished map that people want to support. The trouble is coming up with an intuitive placeholder.

yea, the ironic thing is, the way I have it, I almost did a 180 on theme, I may still go back and do the original plan, but I'm thinking about doing a hell themed map in the fashion of sinshine or helltower (basically Halloween) but for quick clarity for the factory idea: pipe occasionally opens its valve, causing molten steel to pour onto the control point (if on timer complete: it lasts for 5-10 seconds, but if capture point is taken, it will last for a lot less time)
oh and alt note, if I take this idea to heart, I wonder how hard it would be to create a custom hud to indicate how full the pipe is
