yeah I'm scrapping the map I showed on the last page
the layout is incredibly flawed and the brushwork is messy
so there goes about 18 hours of work time down the drain... :demo:

You wouldn't believe how much time I've wasted on projects I've given up on midway (or even some time after release).

This is my reasoning for recreating outflow, now overflow. The map had a solid theme and was favored a lot, but the issue was I didn't really feel all that inspired about it. It felt lacking in the way I had made it, even though everyone loved it.

So, in my opinion, if you ever feel a project dies, go back to it a little bit later but recreate it from the ground up with something new in mind.

Still placeholder water on the bottom there in that last screenshot I hope?

Also, I wanna download that map so bad. Oh, and in case you didn't notice, that particular 2D skybox has its clouds messed up i.e. not aligned with its neighbors, so there's a clear seam which is pretty ugly. Might wanna fix that in the vmts, or just replace the skybox with a different one.

The generator room may need a bit more brightness, but the rest? I love the vibrant, bright and easily identifiable light levels. <3

I wanted to make the generator room slightly darker based on the idea that no one is using the larger open side areas at the moment. This way it pushes players away from it instead of towards it.

Still placeholder water on the bottom there in that last screenshot I hope?

Also, I wanna download that map so bad. Oh, and in case you didn't notice, that particular 2D skybox has its clouds messed up i.e. not aligned with its neighbors, so there's a clear seam which is pretty ugly. Might wanna fix that in the vmts, or just replace the skybox with a different one.

I think the skybox is fucked up because of the angle I took the picture at was an area where a skybox is in front of another skybox. Could just be a simple fix though. And I'm working on a 3D skybox, so it shouldn't look so obvious with where it's at.

I'm talking about the visible seams in the skybox, like the 2D skybox. You can clearly see where TF2 places a "box" around the map because the skybox itself is textured wrong.
