Found stuff using gcfscape

So I opened Gcfscape, and found a lot of interesting things. Some were also in the soundscape browser.
Hope some of you can explain what some of this are and how they got into the official game files.

Inside the moonbase files, there is a folder called "Mercury". It doesn't contain anything interesting, but it's name makes me wonder, if asteroid (which is technically "moon") is in beta, what is, or was, in alpha?
And when you think about it, there were the original 2 teaser posters, that are hinting for an upcoming update. One blue with a space station drawn on it (most likely asteroid) and the other was red, with a pyro on it between cliffs. That one might be Mercury?

The mvm maps are referred to in different names then in-game: mvm_manhattan is mvm_warehouse, mvm_decoy is mvm_cactusV, mvm_coaltown is mvm_deathpit.
Also plr_pipeline is chariots, soho is kong_king and foundry is harbour.

There's a folder called "tropics". It has nothing interesting inside.

Some of these names make me wonder if these maps had a different theme planned for them. Like "harbour" becoming "foundry", or "cactusv" becoming "decoy". Maybe Decoy originally had just a plain ol' desert backdrop before someone on the level design team thought "hey, I know how we can spice this up..."

There are a boatload of unused textures too if you go scrolling through them. Most of it boring stuff that you wouldn't use anyway, like earlier attempts at making gravel.

... if you thought the Average TF2M membger changed themes constantly...

And those TV screens that people keep insisting on using even though they're Half-Life style and like half the resolution they ought to be... and oh yeah, flat textures instead of curved CRT screen models.

While we're on the subject, let's not forget the unused ingot of Australium. Which I spotted back when the Engineer Update came out and then spent hours poring over decompiled versions of Thunder Mountain and Upward thinking there might be some kind of Easter egg that would lead to an ARG or something.
