Damage filter in func_button

I've been trying to make a button which responds only to being damaged by a melee weapon for so long with no success whatsoever. However I edit the damage filter it just doesn't work. Neither for a melee hit or explosion damage or any other type that I tested.

Is there something I'm missing?

Well **** me that's a useful filter. Saves having to muck around with math and timers to stop people shooting multiple buttons.
