Leaving empty brush entities?

I went around deleting some func_brushes that I was converting into models, and I just realized I had left Hammer set to Solids rather than Groups or Objects. Did I leave a bunch of func_brush entities behind that now have no brushes in them, or does Hammer automatically remove the entity when the last brush in them is deleted? If so, how do I fix it?

I've done this same thing a few times but I dont think any entities were left behind. Cant you just make a new map and test it out, creating a few func_brushes and then deleting the solids and checking the entity report if any func_brushes are left?

And if that doesn't cuase the problem, see if manually editing the file can do it. Then we can figure out how to resolve the problem.

I want to know how to deal with the situation when it happens for real, even if it needs to be artifically created for testing.

I do this occasionally and nothing bad has ever happened. In fact I didn't even think about it.
