Today I encountered small problem with Hammer and TF2.
Mumble Overlay requires admin rights on hl2.exe for working.
But when hl2.exe has admin rights then Hammer is not able to launch game after map compilation.
I tried to give admin rights also for Hammer (hammer.exe) but it does nothing.

I dont want to switch admin rights every time Im playing in TF2 or compiling maps.
Do you have any ideas how to fix it? Im on Win 8.1.

What do you mean by admin rights? Are you logged in to Windows on a 'User' account that cannot change anything without an administrator account entering their password?

I never had to set anything special up to see the Mumble overlay in TF2, it just worked. I am logged in to Windows as an administrator.

As a temporary fix, you can try adding the -hijack argument to your game command line in the Hammer compile interface. That will load your map in an instance of TF2 that is already running. So you can load TF2 normally, then when you compile, your map should load in it.

My Windows account have admin rights.
Im not sure how many rights I have, but I dont need to confirm anything (thats the first account in this OS).

My mumble overlay was not working from around 2 years.
I tried many versions of mumble and I tried every possible Fixes that I found in Google, but only giving admin rights for hl2.exe resolves my problem.
In English its like: Properties > Compatibility tab > "Run this app as administrator".

-hijack is not helping.................... BUT BIG THANKS FOR THIS COMMAND! Now I dont need to shutdown/restart game every two minutes :D

No probs :) Sorry to hear you have problems with Mumble. I run TF2 in windowed mode with no border, for both the main game and my Hammer-launched versions.

You could manually change the map in TF2's console. Use map mapname if no map is loaded, and changelevel mapname if you are currently in a map.
