!votecrits/ !crits on and off for donators/VIPs during maptests

As VIPs/donators don't have as much access to server commands as proper server staff do and a lot of us like to host impromptu map tests, it'd be nice if we could get a plugin to enable/disable crits. Obviously it could lead to abuse... but so could the fact that donators can kick people, so yeah.

Maybe to make it less of a "I'm running this imp so I say no crits ever" thing or vice versa, only add a !votecrits command that donators can run, much like how we can do other votes currently so ultimately it's based on the server's vote.

Crits are only turned off if requested by the map author. Voting is democratic but not the choice of the testers. It's not often a map author will ask for crits to be turned off, so donators probably don't need to be given the command.

I actually wanted to ask for this for when the map author asks, not when the donator wants to set it.

It could proobably be added into the Feedback system somehow, at a rough guess? It'd require map authors to wossname, claim their maps and stuff in the feedback system though. Then again, it'd be good motivation/incentive for map authors to actually claim their maps so they can easily turn pesky crits off.

And just so you don't think I'm asking for it for the wrong reason, I'm just thinking of a common problem (which is that people/the map author asks for crits to be turned off during an imp, and usually have to poke someone with higher access to come on and turn crits off) and a solution for it.

EDIT: And of course it means editing the hell out of the feedback plugin, which might mean more trouble than it's worth? I don't know how coding works I'm not a wizard.

Not a bad idea, but that seems like more work than is really necessary to address what is really a minor issues imo?

The simplest solution is to add a map-specific config file with the map in to the game servers' cfg dirs that gives them the cvar to disable crits. If that could be created by the system, then a tick box could be inserted next to the upload form that tells it to make one. That shouldn't take much programming, I think (I am a novice :) )

I've also been wanting a command to disable/re-enable the rtv functionality during tests. It's useful occasionally.

If someone was to edit in a way to do that, it'd be nice if that same person could add in a delay to the map change with RTV. I'm not talking till the end of the round, just make it 20 seconds instead of the five seconds of conversations being cut off etc.

You say that..... But it's an rcon command. So when I last did a vote and decided to turn crits off for a test, we had to call geit. Which is a very nonoptimal solution

Oh well that sucks bum. I thought the vote for crits was an automated thing.

The server seems to have random bullet spread still on though, which has been off on valve servers since the last update. Perhaps that could be turned off?

I thought it was just damage spread that was turned off on Valve servers, not bullet spread?

EDIT: Yep, just went and checked. Bullet spread is still random, damage spread is off.

You're thinking of damage spread.

Necro-bumping this thread to get some attention to it again - for a short period we did have a !critvote command, but it doesn't seem to be on either servers again.
