Map Crashes

I recently uploaded my payload map, Siege, to the site as a bsp.bz2 instead of a vpk. Unfortunately, the map caused people's computers to crash. So I've reap loaded the map as a vpk (I have a history of bad luck with bsp.bz2 files) I was wondering if someone could download the vpk file and tell me if it crashes their computer. The download link is below.

Also, I was wondering, if this is truly a problem with uploading the map as a bsp.bz2, I was wondering if anyone knew a way to fix that, as I understand this formate it the best to use for this site.

VPKs are used for custom materials and models etc, not complete maps. Pack maps in a .bz2 or just upload the whole .bsp, seeing how a map with the _b3 shouldn't be too big anyway.

Vpk is never used in map files like this. If it was a problem with compression, generally it won't be able to uncompress. Upload it as a straight bsp and I'll take a look later today.

I'm trying my best to upload it, but it never seems to work. My computer loads the file, but then returns my to the download edit page with the "upload a file" box empty. I am at my whit's end. I'm starting to worry that I may have to abandon the entire map altogether after three years of working on it, as I'll never be able to fix it. The worst part is, the map doesn't crash for me, its only other people it crashes for. I don't know what to make of that.

Make sure that when you prepare a .bsp for upload, you're taking it straight from your tf/maps folder after the compile finishes. If you want a .bz2, run that .bsp through an archiver like 7zip and choose .bz2. Skip the .vpk stuff entirely. If you're still having problems uploading to the site after that, you can always distribute your map through Dropbox instead.

Alright, I'm going to upload an older version of this map to the site as soon as it is done compiling. Please let me know if it causes a crash.
