How do i get small shrubs and the like on my displacements?

Apparently displacements are supposed to generate small shrubs and flowers, how do i get this to work?

I think you use non-solid props.

List of detail props. Go into map properties to something called detail material and change it to the one associated with the texture you are using for your displacements.

Additionally, if you are using the material improvement from my pack (see sig), I have markers on the blend materials indicating what they support, and I have this page linked to over in the pack thread that shows you what is what.

not all displacements do it - depends on the texture - the alpha button on the displacements panel will show them it there are any.
