Hi, I have a question concerning the creation of 5CP maps.

Should I create each area (Mid, Second, Last) isolated from each other and then just connect them? :bored:

What is your way of making 5cp that seems to work for you?
Thanks! :D

The connectors in 5cp maps are actually incredibly important and should be designed with the rest of the map.

Designing isolated areas and connecting them seems like it'd be more suited to CS:GO maps.

They are important, but should I start with the middle point area, then the middle to second area, then second point area and so on?

I find that making last and going from there works the best for me, but you want to work on whatever point you have the most developed creative vision of. Make sure connectors to each area are thought about thoroughly, as bad connectors can ruin 5CP maps. Whereas Granary isn't a terrible map by any means (actually one of my favorites) it's connectors are hell to get through and promote defensive gameplay and stalemates.
A way to fix this is to add either 3 routes, as Process has. Or to add branching paths in your connectors, as Gullywash does (athough Gullywash is still stalematey in Highlander and Public games it is fine in 6s).

I personally started with mid and worked my way back on Glassworks, but it all depends on how you work best.

I like doing it from mid going to last because it helps me think from the attackers perspective pushing back to final.
