You just did.

I'd assume that Kraken meant how one would post a submission for the contest. For that, please regard the guidelines at the beginning of this post, but I'll quote the rules from Geit here anyway, just to clarify:
RULES

  • Respect the time limit! You may not start mapping in Hammer until the contest has begun.
  • You may not use any elements from old maps. Simple prefabs, such as stairs, prop sets, and entity setups are allowed.
  • You may create sketches of your map before the start of the contest.
  • Any gamemode, custom or official, is allowed except MvM.
  • Your final entry must be submitted before the 72hrs run out. This is no "grace period".
  • Any physical file size allowed.
  • Custom content is allowed, but only if it's made entirely by yourself OR available publicly before the start of the contest.
  • Maps must be able to spawn at least 24 players (12 per team).
  • No collaborations are allowed!
  • You are allowed to use A Boojum Snark's resource library and other such packs and prefabs, such as the lighting library.
  • You are allowed to use Fr0z3n's Map Start-up Prefab
  • You are allowed to test your map as many times as you wish during the 72hrs. There will be impromptus hosted by staff/members throughout the 72hr time period. If you have the time to have your map tested, it is HIGHLY recommended that you test it.
  • Your submission MUST follow this naming convention: <gamemode>_<name of map>_72_version. This is new this year. You can name the map whatever you want. You just need to have _72 in it somewhere. Versioning (_a1, _a2, etc) is highly recommended.
  • DO NOT USE CAPITAL LETTERS OR SPECIAL CHARACTERS (. , $ % &, etc) IN YOUR FILE NAME!
  • Multiple entries are allowed, it is not reccomended however.
  • Your entry must run on TF2Maps.net Servers
  • Your map must including lighting, however basic. (And it shouldn't be too bright either!)
Failure to adhere to these rules may result in disqualification. If in doubt, ask.
The 72 Hour Contest is a semi-annual contest held once in the winter, and once in the summer. Mappers spend a set 72-hour length of time creating a map for submission. Maps can be submitted at any time during that length, but not before or afterwards. Hope this helped!

Edit: BTW, this is the 100th post on the thread. Just sayin'

I can't find HOW to post the map or in that matter anything.

More detail about that matter will come up in the week to come. The map submission won't open up until during the 72-hour period.

So would stuff like this be allowed to be used as a placeholder and a timesaver, and if time comes up at the end, can be replaced?

I was doing some testing and unfortunately, I don't think my computer can handle streaming for the duration of the entire contest, much less streaming, hammer, vbct compiling, tf2, and any other things I might be doing. So feel free to just remove my twitch thing from the OP.

I have a couple questions. Firstly, are we allowed to create threads for our entry/s before the timer starts (obv closer to the time in case we change our minds)? And secondly, does self-made custom content have to be made within the time, or is it whenever (like entity setups)?

relevant rule from the first post:

Custom content is allowed, but only if it's made entirely by yourself OR available publicly before the start of the contest.

That rule doesn't specify anything about the time the content is/can be created though.

I think it was mentioned previously in the post that you're allowed to create custom content during the contest.

In terms of entity setups, I think they're the one thing that's allowed to be created before the contest starts.

So it looks like I won't be able to map next weekend at all. Things got in the way. Oh well. I'll have to see that Friday morning, my time.

Exactly.

Your CC is allowed = it's allowed from any time
OR
Other people's CC is if it's publically available BEFORE the contest = it's allowed from before the contest
