Floating Plane of a Brush on my map?

So I have been making my first real map, a Koth map and the hill itself is made of 7 brushes. Four wedge corners and 5 squares for the middle and fill in of the hill part. But since last night when I compiled this happened.

As you can see, there is a 1 pixel flat plane over my wedge brushes. Does anyone here have an idea of what is going on and how i would fix it?

Maybe you have some corrupted brushes or leaks? Let this website check your compile log and it should tell if something is wrong.

Or maybe the other faces of the brush simply have nodraw-texture and are therefore not rendered

It says I am running in fastvis mode, how do I disable that to see if that is the problem?

As far as I know, fastvis shouldn't cause any issues like this.

Looks like an invalid brush to me, go ahead and recreate the brush and see if the error persists.

Thanks. I rebuilt the point and it turns out the middle block had been carved through and made into an invalid solid. :eek:hmy:

Just stay away from the carve tool, it will mess up your maps

Yeah generally just stay away from the carve tool unless you know what you're doing with it (like KungFuSquirrel in the case of koth_roundhouse).

EDIT: I think the rule I follow with the carve tool is that you shouldn't use it to create shapes (especially holes/convex ones). Use it to chop away bits of things that you don't need (though this can easily be done with the clipping tool). It works particularly with koth_roundhouse because of all the brushes that needed chopping, it saves time and doesn't cause any issues in the end.

Always check alt+p for errors before compile. Like mentioned, invalid brushes will cause issues like that and sometimes they don't even appear ingame. Had lot's of fun with my first map back in 2008 or so with these.
