A question related to the challenge.

I have never done the challenge before and I was wondering if I could just get some general advice.

I am planning to stay up for the 3 days straight, for me that is 8am-8am. Is this a good idea or will I be more productive if I have a 5/6 hour sleep in the middle.

What type of chair would you think be best, as my chair at the moment seems to soak sweat in during 30+ temperatures (Celsius), and with temps probably reaching 40ish degrees during the time of the challenge, do you have any suggestions on how to make a wooden dining chair more comfortable

And last of all, how do the impromptus work? Do we just put it in the steam chat and they get pulled up every couple of hours?

I think you'll want to get your rest. Getting your sleep means you'll be able to stay more focused when working. I can't imagine much quality work being done after 48 hours of being awake.

As for the imps, from my experience there will be multiple playtests each day and the best way to get your map in is to just hang around in the Steam chat. Being in the Steam chat during the 72hr also helps build a sense of community, which is nice for this contest. I think a lot of people are planning on being on Mumble as well.

Despite how the website says I'm an "alleged expert", I still haven't moved far beyond this stage of map design:

50+ hours, sleep when you're dead, only way to go.

Like you did last year? You sounded really awake on your 30-odd minute video.

But hey, what're we talking 'bout. We're sounding like sleep experts. Just take a nap when you feel like you can't do anything anymore or your concentration level has dropped below 0. Or take lots and lots of coffee. That's how I'm going to roll.

It'd almost be better if the ranks were given based on the "thanks" you've received. Would be a good way to see how many people you have helped.

... Or, of course, how many dank memes you've posted

Edit: unintentional double post

I won't be able to get the time off from work so I won't be participating, but I'll probably join mumble to chat and I might even work on the map I started last 72h (but didn't finish).
