There is a need for a special style of map. Have you seen the tr_airshot_v0? A nice map me thinks, but unfortunately it is only useful training certain kinds of airshots. We definately need an airshot map with more variance!

The map needs jumping bots on different levels (jumping from higher and lower), distances, directions, velocities, classes. I think the best option is to have this training map simulate real-game situations. The most useful ones include but are not limited to: Defending/attacking midpoint on granary and hitting enemies midair jumping on containers, dropping down from the containers, platform, upstairs on 2nd point and the bridge and pipe on 1st point. Also defending 2nd point on badlands is the place where one gets the most chances in matches to try airshots: soldiers jumping on it from the ground level, the balcony or the narrow ledge on the other side, scouts jumping to the spiral from the ledge or the balcony.

The tr_airshot_v0 lacks an important aspect in training to real matches - unpredictability. In that map you know quite precisely where the enemy jumps, how high and where he lands. You could argue the points above and say that the map has lots of variety - the player has 3 levels to shoot from and walking closer the enemy spawn gives new angles to shoot from. The predictability is a major downside of this map.

I'm not currently into mapping due to time constraints but I know that this site hosts several skilled mappers. I would very much appreciate your take on this suggestion and preferably, ofc, your creations. One of the great attractive features in any map that increases popularity is the proper visual/aesthetic theme. See the maps rj_rckteer and rj_rckteer_adv for a great style for a training map.

Thank you in advance, Th

Well they dont actually have to jump as in press mouse2, but rather just fly similar to the tr_airshot_v0 map. There is an area in the map which boosts you high when you walk on it, the flight resembles a rocket jump or a stick jump arc.
