Hey all, is anyone able to edit the flatcar container in TF2 to be open both ends and only one end?

I'm surprised valve didn't think of doing so as they'd make great hiding places to ambush people from on maps.

That means much less detail, though. Valve's containers are much more detailed than what you can make with some brushes.

I've tried creating one with brushes and it just doesn't work/look right.

On the other hand I have extracted the necessary files from the game to decompile but the MDL Decompiler just tells me "Unable to load model" when I try to extract.

A model is a preferable choice, of course, and it is unfortunate for those of us who have little or no experience in creating/modifying models to rely on them so much.

Your best bet is to ask one of our local modellers to commission one for you. It doesn't seem like an overly complex model to create, but then i have no idea what it takes to make one. Personally i agree with you, this would be an excellent model to have.

Hopefully Snpiergen will waddle by this thread.

I suppose there is a re-skinning oppotunity there, to avoid creating a whole new model from scratch. But please don't be putting in hl2 props into TF2.

It would be a perfectionists ideal that they match the TF2 containers though. In physical style wise.

They're probably the wrong scale. Most HL2 props are too small for the TF2 world. TF2 is larger than (half)life :p
