I'm used to let the game running in the background between two compiles. (Of course after disconnecting from the tested map). So the warning pop up launched when hammer tries to run a second edition of the game reminds me compile process is done :blushing:

Of course the BSP only compile for checking leaks is really a must do.

Also, in the expert mode, I add "-sw" to the game options, so that it runs windowed instead of fullscreen.

so without it checked it still runs even if there's an error or even a leak? That's stupid :p

Yeah, and worse yet, vvis and vrad run if vbsp fails with a leak or other error. I generally run each component by itself.

Well, it'll atleast get as far as opening tf2, which can take a while, especially while it's trying to figure out what's wrong.

What I like to do is to leave tf2 open then when I add something new I just run a fast compile and go in game and load up the level, it saves all the time the game takes to boot up.
