Almost as subtle as Final Combat. /s

I'm pretty sure I saw some of the weapons from Halo in it too.

I dunno what you guys are talking about. To me this looks a lot better than (current) TF2. Definitely trying Overwatch as soon as I can

http://www.playoverwatch.com has more info and the Pixar-esque cinematic trailer

I'm very interested in too. There's some interesting mechanics that they have shown and some of the 'tf2 like' classes seem be done a little bit better.

A mobile, flying Medic? Definitely sounds interesting.

1) tf2 is good
2) overwatch is similar to tf2
3) therefore overwatch is bad

???

Why are people so eager to dislike things? This game looks like it's gonna be pretty great to me. It's got some similarities to TF2, but it's a far cry from a ripoff.

It's clearly not a Team Fortress clone. There's no Pyro.

Because people in today's society love taking one look at something, and say it's bad because *Blank*. It's something I hate about today's world so much, that we are so quick to judge stuff because of how quickly we can post. Have we seen all the gameplay? No. Have we played the full version? No. Have we spent time in this game yet? No.

My theory about this criticism is that people are afraid it will alienate what they enjoy doing with friends, or other people and that it will remove from the community.

It has 12 classes! This game actually looks amazing. One problem I have when playing other class-based shooters though is that weapons just don't "feel" right. Tf2 is the only game where each class actually feels substantially different than the other classes. I really like how you know how powerful something is based on its recoil, or reload speed, or even its sound.

So far in the trailer I liked everything I saw except that multi-armed class. None of his attacks looked like they were even doing damage. Something like that would take some getting used to.

Apparently Overwatch is going to be more about hero abilities than shooting people (src), which is definitely an interesting take on the FPS genre. IMO I'm not a fan of the "moba videogame" artstyle, and the lack of focus on shooting is going to be a minus for me since I'm all about dat shoot man w/ gun thing, but it won't hurt to give this a try. I just hope it won't turn into a moba-like FPS with millions of characters that are slightly different from each other. Also custom map support maybe???

I'm pretty excited to try this out.

That being said, I am kind of wondering what direction they'll really take this. With the whole MOBA skill style rather than regular shooting, I'm expecting to to see the "millions of characters". In fact, they kind of allude to it in the cinematic trailer with a line that was basically "the world could always use more heroes", and that they set no real bounds on who the Overwatch group really was or who they are fighting against (?).
(I'm pretty excited for the lore since it seems to have some lore behind it and Blizzard does really in depth lore.)

Did Starcraft 2 have custom map support (I never bought it)? Can cross your fingers, I mean they had custom support for their older games at least.

Yeah, my main issue is that they took a lot of TF2 to heart, but not in the right places.
It's a moba fps, basically.
