I hate to ask non-hammer related questions, but I didn't know where else to ask for advice on this. So I made trade map for an at the time, new server group, in exchange for two keys. It was all going well, they were very lenient in terms of deadlines. But after about a month and a half, the server ended up shutting down permanently and the group disbanded. Needless to say, the commission fell through.

I still have the map, however, and I figure I can at least get a key or two for it. Maybe more, I don't really know how maps would be priced. What would be a good place to sell it? The Steam workshop, maybe GameBanana?

I know it's kind of a dick move to sell your own maps, but I put a lot of work into it, and I only ever made it for the keys. If it weren't for that, I'd have probably never have made the trade map since they're pretty boring to make.

You are way underselling yourself. 2 keys? That's 5 bucks. That's less than an hours work at minimum wage. I bet it took you a lot more time than that.

I can tell you from experience that an amount in the hundreds is more what you should be expecting to get paid. Any group not willing to do so is not considering how much time it takes to make any type of map.

I'd chalk it up as a loss, though, unfortunately. Any group wanting a trade map is going to want something custom designed from their ideas.
