This is inspired by the r/mensrights survey (although I'm hoping our results will be different than theirs). Not at all mandatory, but it's good information to know; who doesn't like information?

linky

Discussion about the survey is fine in this thread, but make sure you keep it respectful etc etc.

The results will be posted after a week or two or something like that.

You should probably post a link to the first survey for people who don't frequent reddit.

EDIT: Additionally, I was a little confused by the questions. Were they the same questions in the aforementioned survey (which I couldn't find)? This may not be your fault, but I found the options for some of the questions (i.e. the ones that the poll is trying to get an overview on) a little limited. I made the assumption that for each of the issues and options mentioned I had to be either "for" or "against", according to how the issues are portrayed by popular media at the present moment, rather than any personal convictions I might have about the subject(s).

Why do we care? I mean, sure, we may personally care about an issue one way or the other, but why does the collective we care? We're all here for mapping... all we should care about is what we bring to the table in mapping and not be biased for or against someone because of their unrelated opinions. Sure the survey is anonymous, but merely bringing it up and encouraging discussion on the subject... why bring politics in?

I responded because I think this kind of survey is useful/interesting.

We (TF2M) don't care; I (Seba) do; I did this out of plain curiosity. I'm not going to use the data in any way or make any decisions based off this, I'm just curious about this sort of thing

I think the intention was to compare it specifically to the reddit survey.

Yep

I'll do a more mapping-oriented survey later, the most controversial question on that one should be "rate badlands 1-10"

Surprised to see how few people support marijuana legalization. Then again, "Do you support marijuana legalization" is a vague and loaded question, and it's not a matter of the personal ability to function of a vast number of people.

Almost all the questions at vague and loaded. Especially when you take into account that none of the issues are defined specifically and neither is "advantage" or "disadvantage". The questions seem to be assuming a certain audience with a mutual understanding of what each term means specifically in the case of this survey.

If I remember correctly, I was one of the people who left it unticked. It's not that I don't support it, it's that there's no neutral "I don't support it but I don't oppose it" so leaving it unticked is more appropriate.

The fact of the matter is there aren't enough answers to some questions.
