Originally started as an attempted to learn new skills, this quick artpass of the facade housing capture point B of cp_gorge quickly turned into a complete re-imagining of the setting in a sooper spooky halloween theme.

I hope you all enjoy, and make sure not to trip on any of the candles I have lazily thrown around or get blown up by pumpkin-bombs. :cool1:

I really like how it ended up! I would love to have this map on the annually TF2-Halloween-event like last years hightower. Oh and btw, in the end you liked the idea of the ignited candles on the chandelier i posted on the WiP post ^^

I feel like some stuff is needed in that first pic. Otherwise, I love it!

Yeah I still gotta detail, like, everything. These buildings are styled after viaduct's which have pipes and stains, interesting trims around doors, and even vents.

@everyone else, thanks for the comments! I took a break from this for a week to get other work done, so 90% of this was done in only 6 days. I was tired, man.

Gorge is one of my favourite maps. It'd be cool to see it Halloweenified.

Not a big fan of the change to B but I would have to really play it to see how well it works out. I kinda liked how original B was structured with a middle area and a under area. Any thoughts on continuing the artpass to a 5gorge version?

The only change I did to B was add in a table. You are thinking of 5gorge's platform on the center point. That is unique to 5gorge.

Updated to B2. I honestly cannot remember all the things I have changed/added. But there was much clipping/lighting/detailing work. I still left BLU's first spawn pretty bland, so I will probably continue that once I have some inspiration.

Check OP for new screenshots. ;)

(And I think the map could benefit from some more coffins/candles/pumpkins/spider webs.)

Inspiration: Add a Slotmaschine like the Zoltar Speaks ( from the Movie BIG / http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_(film)) into the Spawn. Or something like this :D

I added some color correction to the map (just the settings that lakeside_event uses) and it makes the map look way cooler. However, because of the intensity of the shadows there are some parts that are too dark so I need to do another lighting pass.

I also included some tree cards, and although this map doesn't have a 3d skybox, I'm beginning to think it might not need one.

In the next update I will have more candles/cobwebs/coffins scattered around and the BLU spawn will be getting a face-lift.




Oh, and the purple fog on the water is most likely going bye-bye.

Spawn room pretty much complete.

I am really loving the color correction in this map now, but I notice a significant fps drop. (I average about 200 but am getting only 100-120) So I might need to optimize better or remove or change the color correction.
EDIT: I just checked in game and I seem to be getting less fps than I usually get in almost every map. I am just going to blame it on the update. Besides, I doubt color-correction would drastically lower fps.

But its getting somewhere, and I am nearly done detailing.
